Silent Scream is the first in a series of which the author has said there will be sixteen. Kim Stone is a feisty character who acts all tough because of her past and who can blame her? She has to put armour around her heart and emotions and prevent anyone getting in. She is a police officer and has to work really tough cases. Some of the crimes can be really gruesome and detailed but I didn't feel like this was for the sake of it. I really enjoyed reading about Kim and her colleagues and the cases they worked and how they found the culprit. I could tell that Kim cared about the people she worked with despite still keeping an emotionally distance from them. Angela marson has a really easy writing style and it's so easy to be able to say just one more chapter. They are short and snappy chapters which I love, as it's easy to read one chapter during a journey or before sleeping
