Sleep is a gripping psychological thriller written by C.L.Taylor.
Sleep focuses mainly on the character of Anna who crashes the car she is driving, killing two of her passengers and severely injuring another. She moves to the remote Scottish island of Rum to try to cope or escape from the overwhelming guilt that she feels. But it seems that someone has followed her there and Anna doesn't know who to trust.
"If you are reading this then I am no longer alive." What an amazing first line! It drew me in and I knew there was no wat that I was going to be able to put the book down. In fact, the same can be said for the whole of the first chapter. Brilliant writing!
I enjoyed the setting for this story. The remote island of Rum is desolate and cruel. In a way a character in itself.
There is an interesting cast of varied characters all of which appear to have secrets of their own and I think I suspected each of them at some point during the story.
Such clever writing" C.L.Taylor leads you in one direction then spins you around with an incredible twist. I must admit that this is the first book that I have read by this author and I am extremely impressed. I will definitely be reading more from now on. I thoroughly recommend this book!
