This was my first book by CL Taylor and I was gripped by it throughout. Anna struggles to sleep from the guilt and terrible memories of an accident that she was involved in. To try and get away from this all she takes a job at a hotel on a remote Scottish island...but it seems that someone is out to get her.
The book starts with a letter from Anna containing a list of people who potentially want her dead and this sets the scene well for the whole story. I did find the start a little slow as as I wasn't overly taken in by the circumstances surrounding the accident. Despite this, once Anna arrived at the hotel I was truly hooked; I really enjoy a plot where there are a limited number of suspects so that you can try to play Miss Marple! Whilst I wasn't keen on many of the characters, I actually think this added to the mystery and the drama - for me, any one of the guests at the hotel could have had it in for Anna! Taylor's writing was really easy to read and she threw in enough twists and turns to keep me guessing.
