I liked the title, the cover and the tagline. That all drew me into reading this book. I feel like this book started quite well and I enjoyed the premise of escaping to an isolated island. I loved how the island of Rum was described by the author but there could be room for using the island more in the story. Anna started a new job at the island's only hotel and within her first weeks she admits seven new guests. However there was a storm coming and the hotel and the guests need to hunker down to ride it out. The guests are all in close contact with each other and harbouring secrets of their own. This was interesting at first but it just didn't flow very well throughout the story. Overall I didn't find any of the characters likeable including the main character, Anna. This was an average psychological thriller. It was still an okay read and average throughout but not as gripping or as thrilling as I'd initially hoped.
