Having read some of C.L Taylor's previous books I was fairly confident I was going to enjoy this one - and it did not disappoint! The story begins with the main character Anna who is involved in a car crash which results in the death of two of her work colleagues. As the driver of the vehicle Anna is consumed by guilt and is finding it difficult to sleep at night. She needs an escape and ends up taking a job at a hotel on a remote Scottish island. There's a major storm and she's stuck inside the hotel with seven guests, one of which has followed her.
I loved this book so much I didn't want it to end! The chapters are short and I didn't want to put it down because I was desperate to know what was going to happen next. It's very atmospheric, creepy and keeps you guessing right to the very end. I would actually go so far as to say this is one of the best thrillers I've read all year.
Be prepared, you may not be able to 'Sleep' after reading this one!
