Anna Willis is involved in a fatal car accident involving her work colleagues. She escapes with minor injuries, but the psychological impact is lasting and her inability to sleep well affects her hugely. Ending her already failing relationship with Alex, and receiving a couple of strange sleep-related notes, she decides to start fresh and move to the Isle of Rum. Getting a job at the Bay View Hotel she hopes to get away from her past and finally get some sleep, but is one of the guests, with all of their own secrets, the exact thing she was trying to get away from?

C.L Taylor has written fabulously. Her writing is really engrossing and the amount of emotions you feel through her rollercoaster ride of a story is fantastic.

The central character, Anna, was very likeable and I felt immediately drawn to her. You could empathise and understand her thoughts and emotions, whilst also feeling sorry for her and everything that was going on.

It kept me guessing right until the end, and I honestly hadn’t a clue ‘whodunnit’. The clues made sense and it wrapped itself up really nicely.

Of course I couldn’t review this book without a thank you - thanks to C.L Taylor for the wonderful competition that I won. Seeing my name as a character in a book is amazing and I hope all the other Becca’s out there enjoyed seeing a character with our name - it’s not a common occurrence for sure!
