I had high hopes

I had high hopes for this book as C.L Taylor is an author i’ve heard spoken so highly of previously and the first sentence of this book had me going ooooohhh

After this I really struggled to connect with the characters. It was a good read and one I did enjoy but I just wasn’t as hooked as I have been with thrillers in the past. One character I did really like was Trevor and I would have liked to have seen more of him in this book. It did come with twists as I was NOT expecting the ending but it didn’t have be at the edge of my seat or wanting to bite my nails because i’m so stressed out and NEED to know what was going to happen.

If you are a fan of thrillers, then I would recommend you try it, Just because it didn’t sit right with me doesn’t mean you won’t enjoy it. My friend who actually bought me this book as a gift, adores this book and it is one of her favourites which made me want to love it all the more but I just really couldn’t connect with it. My rating for it still going to be 3 stars as it is an easy read, it was a quick read for me but it just didn’t have my heart pumping or my adrenaline going
