This was the first book I’d read by this author - it definitely won’t be the last.
This was a great thriller that kept me guessing all the way through. It centres around Anna who has moved to the Island of Rum. The island is secluded and far away from usual amenities. Anna moved for a fresh start after an event that happened, she moved so no one knows who she is and to keep her secrets safe. But it doesn’t quite pan out like that. There is 7 guests, all with their own secrets, including one of those who are a killer. A storm comes along blocking the island off from the mainland, which goes in the killers favour!! Anna, and every guests and hotel workers, lives are in danger. Anna must work out who the killer is before she also becomes a victim.
The story has a feel of Agatha Christie in this who dunnit. And I enjoyed that aspect where many people come together, all with their own back stories and secrets. I enjoyed all the characters and found all their personalities to be enchanting. And some of them were very relatable. The book was also an easy read, the writing style was great, and the story flowed at a pace that wasn’t ahead or too slow.
