The opening chapter of 'Sleep' is exactly what you need from a thriller... it drops you straight into the storyline and instantly builds suspense! I also loved the short chapters... it definitely kept you turning the pages to find out a little more!

I think what I liked most was that Anna's situation was believable. It's the kind of event that could happen to any one of us and I was constantly questioning how I might have reacted.

The book had quite a large number of characters, and at times I found it difficult to decifer who was who. The chapters are told from multiple perspectives, and I often found it difficult to keep up with the various points of view. I think it would have been much easier to follow if it had been two or three max.

I found the conclusion a little far-fetched. Although I appreciate that it wasn't easy to guess the perpetrator, I didn't find it as believable as the beginning of the book.

I've enjoyed a number of Taylor's other books, and I'll definitely read the ones I've skipped but this one just missed the mark for me.
