My favourite genres are thriller/ psychological thriller and when I stumbled upon this book I knew it wouldn’t disappoint. I love reading books that invade your mind so much so that everything happening in the story feels so real and this definitely ticked the box.
After an accident which leaves Anna heavily guilty, she’s met by disturbing messages, along with the gripping feel of mental trauma and a boyfriend who doesn’t understand. Wanting to escape and start new, she ends up on an island. Yet her “fresh start” consists of sevens members, each holding a secret and one of them being a murderer. If she couldn’t sleep before, on this island she was a zombie, for the fear of being killed was insane.
Everything in this story is written so cleverly; fine details and jumps between narratives, foreshadowing and pathetic fallacy and twists and turns. But the best part was the ending... the unexpected ending so vivid that it left me shook.
My only complaint is that there isn’t a second book, because, BRO, the ending!! (You’ll know when you read it... )
