Main character Anna takes an hotel job on a remote Scottish island to escape her troubled experiences in London. However, as the guests arrive and events of the novel unravel it appears the ghosts of her past have followed her. An attempt at escape quickly turns into a nightmare for Anna, and a fight for survival.
I enjoyed the fact this was a quick, light read that was easy to dip in and out of. I liked some of the characters, particularly the portrayal of Trevor.
However, I didn’t think it anymore than a ‘run of the mill’ thriller. It was good and readable but it didn’t have me frantically turning the pages to see what happened next. There was a twist about midway that surprised me, but other than that I felt the rest of the book was quite predictable.
I would recommend this to fans of an easy to read thriller, but I wouldn’t expect anything ground breaking.
