There is an overwhelming feeling of sadness and helplessness emanating from the woman on the cover of the book. Carolyn, as we get to know her, is a strong woman out of her depth in a controlling relationship. I loved the way the author made it so clear to the reader what kind of man Mark was. I just wanted to shout at Carolyn and warn her! Totally gripping and absorbing.
