From the very start there was a feeling of desolate urgency about everything.
It seems that to know and understand what is happening then you must read the whole book-at no point do I remember MI6 being mentioned earlier-so what is that all about and in his preambles with the family he told them he never eats lunch but later on suggests going for lunch "as I am starving"!
