The first thing that struck me about this book is how incredibly fast paced it is. It jumps from one thing to the next. Which I suppose is how life must have been for Carolyn and how she got trapped so quickly in this marriage. She barely has time to think. It's hard to imagine that people such as Mark exist in the world and it shocked me that this was a true crime story and indeed based on real people and their experiences. I am intrigued to know more and to find out the truth behind who Mark really is.
