Well I whizzed through this 23 page extract. It doesn't start at the beginning of the book so I don't know how it all starts, but from what I read it is a very strange relationship.
Mark seems to be pretending he is some kind of secret agent and he has somehow persuaded Carolyn to move away from her home and for some reason transfer money to his assistant despite claiming to be mega rich.
When he meets her family he is extremely arrogant and causes a rift between them so Carolyn is becoming more isolated.
I would like to find out what is going on but I think it would be one of those books that gets you quite wound up!!
