This book did indeed read like a thriller and a lot of it seemed very unbelievable.

At times it felt like the book was written to entertain and didn't feel like that could have actually been someone's life.

Reading Carolyn's story and the emotional abuse/gaslight ING she suffered was very shocking to the reader. Although I do feel that at times she tries too hard to justify her own actions and appears stuck up, I can imagine a lot of this is a front to justify her beliefs to herself.

Falling for such a clever man was unfortunate and this story shows the extremes and lengths a psychopath can go to, in order to get what they want.

Even though his stories about his work and spending habits were absurd, he did have good evidence and pulled off the image in a way that is hard to dispute.

I think Carolyn is brave for telling this story, and the book was written very well.
