Difficult to judge this one as I feel I would have to read a bit more to get a feel for the book. It is well written but I got a sense it was an upmarket 50 Shades of Grey (a book which I really didn't like). As I said, hard to judge because there wasn't enough to really get your teeth into but I'm sure it could be quite a good thriller if the character development continued well. What would definitely be needed is for the husband to be truly believable, so hopefully his behaviour isn't so madly outrageous that it stops being engaging. I also definitely would hate it if the female lead character was a complete submissive wimpy person - I'm hoping she stands up to her husband at some point even if he does prove to be a little unhinged. That would definitely make for a more interesting marital dynamic than the stereotypical, patriarchal narrative of many aggressive male lead characters.
