Wow! I honestly don’t know quite where to begin with this book. It’s incredible, frightening, unbelievable and disturbing all at the same time.
It centres around Carolyn Woods and how a man took complete control over her whole life: her job, money, home and even her thoughts.
The first thing that shocked me was that this was a true story. As I was reading it, I genuinely couldn’t believe it was real. I really liked the bravery behind the story and the brutal honesty from the narrator too. It takes real courage to be as frank and honest.
This book also shows us how easy it is to be completely manipulated and taken advantage of. I genuinely feel for Woods and I would like to think people wouldn’t be able to get away with things like this.
By the end of the book, I was so glad I read it and had the opportunity to read it. It’s harrowing in so many’s. A great read.
