My mum uses a phrase about how a family should give their children the wings to fly away and make their own path but also the roots so that they know that they can always come home. This story made me think about this straight away.
The main character seems ready to go off into the world and explore but this can be scary and people judge so the pull to go back home to the safety of the family is definitely there.
