This was quite a cute and unique way to start a book. Usually, when I read a preview of a book, I am pulled in by the mystery of the character, but what pulled me in to this book was two things: the reality of it and the child’s perspective. The reality in this book, with the caravan on concrete blocks in the backyard, made me question who and what was involved and made me wonder where the story was going to go. However, it was the child’s perspective that got me hook, line, and sinker! Especially how the child called the dandelions “wishes”, as it reminded me of a time where I was innocent enough to see them as a precious commodity and not a weed to be plucked from the ground. I am so excited to read the rest of this book!
