A good read
I really enjoyed this book. However, it did seem like there was a lot of storylines trying to be fit into one book and it all seemed a bit disjointed and there were a few loose ends by the ending of the book.
We never find out if Debbie has had sex or if Xanthe ever ended up accepting her body. There was a moment were we met Xanthe’s mother which seemed to be there for no reason.
In fact, there was quite a few moments in the book in which it seemed things were chucked in for the sake of it.
However, I really like Debbie and Xanthe and there definitely were some laugh-out-loud moments.
It reminded me a lot of ‘Normal People’ but without the love story. I’d really like to see a follow up book as well where we follow Debbie’s and Xanthe’s story further.
Overall, a good read, good characters and I can see it being very popular when it is published to the general public.
