This was such a lovely read and I fell in love from the very first page with its charming descriptive writing. An Irish set coming of age story, with a real big focus on family and small town living. I loved following our main character, she was always full of dry humour and I just loved her general narration of everything. It was just such a joy to read from start to finish, filled with humour, heartwarming moments, coming of age scenarios and some emotional moments too. Also seeing that this is a debut I thought it was so well crafted and such an easy flowing read, I look forward to what this author brings out next as I would definitely read it. Also it’s been likened to Normal people , because of the Irish link and the coming of age link, but for me it was a totally different tone and much better flow to it. If you’re after something to make you laugh, characters to warm to and a flowing story that feels like a hug this is for you.
