This is Louise Nealon's debut novel and it is a magical tale.
Debbie has started at Trinity College and is getting used to life that does not revolve around the farm on which she lives.
Debbie lives on the farm with her mother who suffers from mental illness and her uncle Billy, who feels he has to look after both Debbie and her mother but has his own secrets and issues to deal with.
The writing is absolutely wonderful and so many themes are evident in this book including mental illness, grief, finding yourself and the importance of friendships.
All the characters are beautifully created and you feel invested in all of them.
The writing is fluent and it makes you want to read on.
I expect big things for this book and look forward to many more from this author.
