I really liked Debbie as a main character. I didn’t have too many preconceived ideas about this book but she was very ordinary and down to earth so I could relate to her. Maeve was treated like she was mad because of her eccentricity which I understand and her diagnosis of bi polar was an interesting side story. Xanthe was a lovely character too with her own issues which sat really well with Debbie’s ordinary country girl appeal. Billy is a mysterious one clearly intelligent and the male carer of the family wanting to help Debbie make the best of herself because she’s intelligent. There were so many different interesting angles to this story it made it really hard to put down. Griff I wasn’t keen on, the sheer Grief from Maeve at James wake was raw and a turning point for Maeve. I loved the stories in the stars and the snowflake reference. Highly recommended
