Now I really want to read the rest of Snowflake. I liked the author's writing style and could empathise with Debbie moving from rural setting to big city for uni. I want to find out what happens next and how she copes with the disparities between her home life and her student life. She seems to have led an insular life so far.
Her uncle also seems like quite the character and I could picture him in my mind's eye. I liked the humour in their chats and the ribbing of each other showing their close family bond.
I'm intrigued to find out more about Debbie's mum and why Debbie feels she can't leave her and needs to stay to look after her.
A solid start to a coming of age novel that has left me wanting to read more.
