"A puff-ball moon and bouquet of wishes"... such beautiful language which paints a vivid picture in one's imagination whilst leaving plenty of wriggle room for personal interpretation. From the first page, I was hooked by the haunting beauty of the prose and thirsting for more. Louise Nealon has a talent for creating characters who are filled with life and dance off the page at you to occupy the crevices of your imagination with their own stories. As a reader it was easy to become part of the story, feeling compassion for, and part of, the characters lives whilst breathing in the essence of their beings through this engaging coming of age tale. Apart from the joy of reading such a beautifully written story, the overarching message of,' it's ok to be different, is one that is perhaps more pertinent to today's young adults than those of any other time in society. A truly recommended read.
