I have read many books by Joy Fielding. None of those books disappoint and neither does this one. In fact, it was too quickly over. Bailey Carpenter, is a private investigator for a law firm. Asked in Miami, Florida. She seems to enjoy her job and is excellent at it. Until the day when a horrific attack leaves her so fearful, she will no longer leave the confines of her apartment.
Bailey is a likeable character, who I found myself rooting for from the very beginning. You want her to succeed with her investigations and you want to see her break out of the prison she find herself in, after her attacker caused her to doubt everything she knows. Joy Fielding does a great job in making every moment of the story feel believable, and thus leaves you wanting for more.
