This opening was full of description and emotion. It is clear that all three of the characters we are introduced to have suffered in their own way in their lives and this has given them fragility and strength in union.
That being said, it didn't really hook me. I kept finding my focus wandering to doing other things whilst I was reading it, so for that reason I don't have any desire to read more.
