The opening passage sucks the reader in immediately. I wanted to know what had happened and the story of this book from the very start. It is full of imagery and is beautifully written. The writing is easy to read. I loved The Beekeeper of Aleppo and this seems like it will be an incredible follow up novel. The cover is gorgeous.
