I finished this book some weeks ago. I was drawn to the story and it’s telling.

“She made my heart be full of stars, now it’s just dark inside me.”

This is a tragic tale exploring the value of a human migrant life. The life of a woman who left her home country and her child with her parents so that she could make more money to send home and improve her daughter’s prospects.

This was a woman with a twinkle in her eyes and a spark of passion she injected into the life of the little girl she was employed to care for. This was a woman who came to love someone and trust them wholeheartedly and honestly.

I felt this was a story of a life well lived and tragically told. My heart was set to burst after reading the ways the little girl’s life was shattered.

This was the better book of the two, choose Songbirds before you choose The Beekeeper Of Aleppo.

I received this book for review consideration. My opinions are honest and only speak for my experience.
