The way this book is written is so beautiful. The placement of words, the quotes from characters and the phrases which show a deeper meaning to life, was what kept me reading this book. The descriptions are so intricate and really intensify the book.

The story follows a maid, Nisha, who has disappeared from Cyprus where she works for a family along with plenty of other foreign woman who have also come to work in order to be able to support their families. It is a dual written book, and i think that worked perfectly for this and helped introduce the characters beautifully.

However, the topic this book sought to cover was not satisfactory. It started out extremely slowly, only reaching the point of the book within the last pages and then leaving the ending hollow, without any real meaning. I feel as if the story was incomplete and did not match the immaculate writing during the beginning of the book. The topic, although slightly covered, wasn’t enough and so because it was the main storyline - this let it down.

Overall, i did enjoy the concept of this book however feel as if it could have been elongated to touch further on it and create a satisfying ending or go more in depth to the issues. I did LOVE the authors writing style - it was gripping, so wonderfully worded and really bought this book to life! I do still recommend this book as it is eye opening. (loved the authors note at the end and found it so interesting to see how this story progressed plus it was extremely emotional)
