So I have previously read The Beekeeper of Aleppo and loved it, but this second book of the author is simply next level. It is so full of emotion and you cannot stop reading. I loved everything about it, from the beautiful cover, the very fluid writing style, the contouring of the characters and the whole plot.
I find that this author has such a talent in finding the right words for every little phrase, putting a drop of feeling in each word or sylab.
The story is based on real life disappearence of domestic workers in Cyprus and humanizes the stories that we constantly see in the news, hidden behind an attention grabbing headline. I have discovered a lot about a different culture and country and this is something I particularly enjoy when reading a novel - the ability of the writing to make you travel and visit the exact places where the plot takes place.
