Not the normal genre i read but WOW i love this author
I like the way this book is presented it seems very lyrical and all words are used for a purpose no words are accidentally placed in this book and it was very educational with many quotes that I adored in this book.
The pacing of this book Is perfect and light but also gripping it was not too short or too drawn out, I will purchase any book by this author going forward, I love it.
I love petra as a character but I love the way all their lives react with each other and the way they reacted to different situations.
There are many quotes I have highlighted that gives so much insight from "when the creator finished his creation of the world he shook the remaining clumps of clay from his hands and they fell to the sea and formed this island" and "I learnt a lesson I would never forget: how a person can disappear inside themselves and that sometimes like my farther they are never able to find there way back" and these quotes hit me really hard.
This is a great book on how you can be friends and around someone and still know nothing about them or their lives without truly knowing someone, that you only see the reflection of their true self that they allow you to see, this reminds me of an old saying you have three faces your true face only you see, the face your family and close friends see and the one others see.
I like the insight into maids and workers lives and how once you are in the trade there is no escape, this is the same for the hunting industry once you are in it is hard to choose a better life and path.
The ending to this book is heart-wrenching and will eat at you till you cry, this is so emotional and relatable to many issues faced within many countries and issues on perspectives.
