This is one of those stories that opened my eyes to what life is like for people who are worse off than I am. As this story was inspired by real life events it made me feel sad to read it and to learn how migrant workers have to live while working abroad.
In `Songbirds' a young migrant female maid has gone missing for no apparent reason. When her employer goes to the local police office to report the disappearance , nobody is interested. This is because the general opinion of migrant workers is that they just follow the money and come and go as they want to.
