After reading the beekeeper of Aleppo I couldn’t wait to read Christy Lefteri’s lastet book, and it did not disappoint.

We are told the story of Nisha, but from the perspectives of Yannis and Petra, who both have very different perspectives on Nisha’s life. The character development in this book is brilliant and Petra in particular becomes much more likeable as the story progresses and she begins to understand the lives of the women that many people (including herself) have ignored and not thought worth getting to know.

I found this book very moving, and I think we can learn a lot from it. It teaches us that it doesn’t matter where a person comes from. They have made their own sacrifices, probably more than most of us could ever imagine.

The book is beautifully written, you can see and hear the songbirds and scenery as if you were there!

I will definitely read any more work by Christy Lefteri!
