I love a good quirky book, that has a gentle humour that is not in your face, and from first impressions this is exactly what you get with this book. It is very reflective of modern life, with work getting in the way of time to cook for yourself. The book had me hooked from the first chapter and led me to want to read on and was disappointed when I came to the end of the first impression, so do hope to win this one so I can continue with the story. I have always wanted to read Mr Penumbra’s 24 Hour Book Store and the Initial part of this book has accelerated it up my TBR.
The only thing that disappointed me was the cover which didn’t really speak to me and wouldn’t make me pick up the book, I also felt it could do with a better title. These don't reflect the excellent writing style of the first impression.
