I’m so close to giving this book 5 stars - it is so good! The story of Lois and the Clement Street Starter is not only completely absorbing but entertaining and fascinating all at the same time. This story is so completely different to anything that I have read before. Everything about it is new - from the sourdough to the Lois club! What I love most however, is that at it’s heart is a woman finding love and passion in a life that looks set to be repetitive and productive (not in the fun way!). This is a cozy in front of the fire kind of read - ideally with some butter slathered sourdough! I don’t think there’s a better summary than that of the irish times about Robin Sloan’s previous book - charming, gently comedic, sweetly nerdy.
