When I first started the book, I was a little unsure of what to think. It took a while for me to settle into the story because at first there didn't seem to be an emerging storyline. However, after sticking with it for a few chapters, I found myself intrigued and wanting to find out more.

The plot idea itself is unique and it is surprising how such a simple idea can transcribe into such an entertaining story. I found myself unable to put the book down, the further I got into it and I was willing Lois on, urging her to find out more about her mysterious bread so that I could find out more!

I would say that sometimes the communication between her and one of the other characters, Beoreg, made the book feel a little disjointed. As their communication is dispersed between the chapters that follow Lois' main storyline, it seems to break up the flow at times. It also seems like a bigger contrast in writing styles. Whereas Lois' life is set amongst technology, programming, and robots, Beoreg seems to be the complete opposite to this and his emails are full of reminiscing and recanting old stories of his community. While these add a nice touch to the story in terms of context, it almost makes it difficult to place where or when the story is actually set.

Overall I would recommend this book as 'something different'. It is very much unlike anything I have ever read before but I did find it an enjoyable read!
