This book is so bizarre, but in a good way. What first attracted me to this book was the cover. Bright, colourful, simple yet eye catching. I haven't heard of Robin Sloan before now but I am definitely going to check out more of his books!
I have never read a book that had combined technology and baking! The main character, Lois Clary, is an engineer in a robotics company who eats mostly Slurry, a nutritive gel until she discovers a leaflet for a restaurant the serves the most delicious spicy soup and sourdough bread right to her doorstep. Soon enough, she becomes the restaurant's number one customer! When the shop has to close down, the two men who run it leave the starter for the bread with Lois. The adventure then unfolds from there!
Overall, I give this book a 4 star rating. I enjoyed it very much but there were some bits and pieces that didn't really fit in with the story line. I recommend you read this book!
