Ok, so I must admit that I was attracted to the book because of the cover as it looked so fun and colourful. I wasn't sure what this book was about before reading it. I assumed it was to do with cookery! This book covers multiple different topics. There is a cookery element mixed with science and friendship. Our main character Lois narrates the story wonderfully, which made the story very enjoyable. What may not be obvious by the blurb is that this book has aspects of magical realism entwined into the storyline. This was brilliant, as the story also had a contemporary twist.
This book was quirky, fun and a light read which ended up being an extremely charming book. I loved it!
