Where do I even start with this bizarrely wonderful book? This was not what I was expecting at all. It was magical.
It has really made me consider what I value in life. Treasuring the small things. To live in and look at every moment. Savour our food. And to start my own sourdough starter (seriously. We'll see how that turns out!)
It played out in my head in full visual detail. I could see the faces. Hear the music. Smell the starter.
I loved all of the characters, but as a book nut I saw something of myself in Horace. My favourite parts though were the exchanges with Beo. Such a wonderful tale interwoven.
