This story was very different from the books I usually read, both in content and writing style. But I still got intrigued by the first few pages, and ended up getting hooked. It's funny, witty, sweet, a bit dystopian but very real at the same time. It's the story of Lois, who lives for programming robotic arms in a company that overworks employees to free men from labour. (How funny does that sound!) When Lois starts ordering her takeaways from a place around the corner her life changes, as the two mysterious brothers who run the place leave her their sourdough starter before leaving the US. It's not long before Lois starts to get her life back by using her own arms (vs the robotic ones she programmes, at the beginning anyway!) to bake sourdough bread. And she'll go way further than that in very unexpected ways. And no, she won't open the usual life-saver cafe or restaurant. No spoilers, just read it and prepare to laugh, smile and be amazed! One thing: I'll never think of bacteria the same way again!
