I'm not entirely sure what to say about this one. On one hand, it was a great read. But on the other, I felt it was lacking *something*, but I'm just not all too sure what. Perhaps I'm just picky about my thrillers after reading my fair few... Regardless, this was a well-written one, and an absorbing read for any reader.

Carver writes masterfully in this, commandeering a plot revolving around a conspiracy and the investigations around it. All our characters are interlinked, in ways that are cleverly planned, and powerfully done. The storyline is built up well, albeit a little weaker in some of the latter parts of the book (I felt some pages were very filler-type).

Overall, it was thrilling, and certainly a good book. Definitely enjoyable and would recommend to my friends (+ everyone else); just not my perfect cup of tea for 5 stars at this time!
