Well, this has all the tension you'd hope for in a good thriller. The plot is somewhat far-fetched, but based in enough realism to lure you into a life you hope doesn't actually exist.

The privileged students of a boarding school enjoying some outdoor pursuits may not sound like the setting of a story that embodies the class struggle in such a bloody way, but M A Bennett has certainly crafted a compelling read.

As a secondary school librarian, I am recommending this book to any pupils who likes a bit of mystery and adventure, and who don't shy aware from a bit of violence in their book choices. It's definitely a winner with our more reluctant readers. It's also great that the gore isn't too explicit.

A great addition to any YA collection - at home or at school!
