When a book starts off announcing a confession of murder, you know it's going to be a good book.

Greer is enrolled at the prestigious school of S.T.A.G.S. However she doesn't exactly fit in to it's slightly archaic hierarchy. She isn't (the right kind of) rich, she doesn't look like the others and she is largely ignored by the 'Medievals': the popular clique that rule the hierarchy.

The school is taught by 'Friars' who are very proud of the tradition of their rich historical school.

Considering Greer has been ignored for her whole year there, she is very surprised to find an invitation to an exclusive weekend at the head of the Medieval's country home. Henry (said leader) is promising a weekend of Huntin', Shootin', Fishin'.

this is where the plot thickens. It seems that the poor animals aren't the only ones who are going to be on the receiving end of a hunt.

Bennett manages to create an incredibly creepy atmosphere at Longcross Hall. Why are so many adult servants willing to participate in such a barbaric act? Why is this happening in the first place? and how the heck are Greer and her new found friends on the same hit list going to escape?

The luxurious exquisite surroundings of this book make a great juxtaposition with the atmosphere held within.

I would highly recommend this book and look forward to reading any future offerings from Bennett.
