I was instantly drawn by the premise of this book: Nine Students. Three Blood Sports. One Deadly Weekend. I'm a huge fan of crime thrillers and YA, so put them together and I want to read it!

Greer, our protagonist, is witty and believable. She talks, acts and thinks like a real teenager. She considers herself a feminist, but admits to stereotypically fancying the hot guy that everyone lusts after. Arriving at a new school for sixth form would be tough for most to difficult, but Greer is now attending a school where money matters and, weirdly but I love it, pupils shun mobile phones and social media - it's like a different world and she has to learn how to navigate it. So she's pitched as an underdog from the start.

Even from the first few chapters it is clear that many, if not all, the students have an elitist attitude and that bullying is rife and ignored by teachers. With the promise of a 'deadly weekend', I'm intrigued to see how this book will unfold.
