Faced with spending a year living with her Aunt and her toddler twins Greer MacDonald applies for (and wins) a scolorship to Saint Aiden the Great School in Northumberland. STAGS caters for the richest of rich and if you don't fit life can be hell. Greer finds after half a term no one is really speaking to her so is delighted to get an invitation to a weekend of Huntin', shootin' & fishin' at the height of game season but are the animals the only prey?

With an opening sentence 'I think I might be a murderer' I expected to love this book. What I found was an average, monotone story about a fish out of water and how the upper classes could work. The writing is good but doesn't provide all the characters with their own voice. It could be a clinical historic report for all the connection developed. There are moments of tension but they are quickly lost in trying to move th plot along. The last pages provided genuine stomach knotting tension (turning a two star to a three star read) and show the potential that Bennett has. I look forward to finding out what she does in the future.

Many thanks to ReadersFirst & HotKey publishing who provided me with a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
