I really enjoyed the book, both in written and audio forms.
Not only are the scenery and characters beautifully created and described but they truly complement each other, giving the reader a wholesome perspective and making them feel as if they are part of the story, a real witness to the story and its events.
I also particularly enjoyed the clear critique to privilege and elitism and the idea that everyone that doesn’t have the right background is inferior. The book works on the premise that poorer or less established doesn’t make for worse, but actually more resilient, supportive and determined to succeed.
All in all, an extremely easy to read mystery that I’d strongly recommend.
I also need to highlight that the narrator of the audiobook is utterly fantastic and brings a whole new layer to the story, setting the mood and the scene for the reader, making them feel as if a friend was telling them something that has just happened.
