The story centres around a prestigious and highly expensive public school called STAGS in England. Modern technologies are rejected there and a more simpler way of life is taught. Year after year Upper class families send their children there to study, so most of the students are from the same sorts of backgrounds.
Greer Mcdonald is different. She's from a single parent family, she's got a Mancunian accent and the only reason she is at STAGS is because she's won a scholarship for sixth form! Greer doesn't fit in with the others at school so she is isolated and alone and she barely speaks a word to anyone until she receives the invitation...

Greer and two other students who aren't quite the "norm" are invited to the most popular boy in school's house for a weekend of shootin' huntin' fishin'
Not entirely knowing what is in store for them, tje kids spend the weekend in a world of upper class blood sports and tradition, but all is not what it seems...

This is a fast paced novel with a few twists and turns. It's a fairly tame thriller, a kind of hunger games style storyline, but slightly creepier.
I really enjoyed the narrative and I read it super quick for me. I feel like it has the potential to be a sinister style Harry Potter without the magic. I would have enjoyed some more background and depth to the school and the characters and I hope that comes in the next book!
Overall an enjoyable read and I'm super excited to get stuck into the sequel!
