This book was marketed as a blend of Looking for Alaska/Gossip Girl and the Hunger Games which creates a problem of having to live up to the legacy of two very successful novels but also reduces the STAGS solely based on its setting (Private School Politics/Kid Killing Challenge). It is a slight disservice to STAGS to live in this shadow when in reality it is a thrilling and stressful read when you are hanging off every word wanting to find out what happens next. I have to admit this book is an unique addition to the YA genre where fantasy and dystopian has reigned for so long. Plot twists upon betrayals in this thriller with an unreliable perspective makes STAGS a vastly exciting read and MA Bennett an author to look out for.
